Danforth Early Childhood Center, located at 160 Danforth Avenue, is a three-story, 78,996 square foot building built in 1899. The center serves children living in the PS16 zone. Spaces include classrooms, auditorium, gymnasium, administrative offices, cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, storage rooms, and boiler room. Facility lighting system consists of a mix of linear 32-Watt fluorescent fixtures and LED fixtures. The building is 100% heated by two, oil fired steam boilers. It is partially cooled by window air conditioning units. Recent improvements include: Over the recent past months the facility has replaced some of its lighting system to LED sources.
