James J. Ferris High School
James J. Ferris High School is a 3-story, 282,511 square foot building, while Ferris Junior Academy is a 3-story, 94,611 square foot building. Both were built in 1969 and share a single boiler room. Spaces include classrooms and offices as well as gymnasiums, locker rooms, a natatorium, an auditorium, cafeterias, a kitchen, a library, corridors, stairwells, restrooms, storage rooms, and electrical and mechanical space.
Lighting for both facilities is provided mainly by linear fluorescent T8 fixtures. Window AC units, a package unit and four hot water boilers provide cooling and heating respectively. One hot water boiler provides heating to the pool. There is one passenger elevator located in each facility.
